Due to continued growth driven by strong client relationships and recent client wins, DAC Beachcroft’s Casualty Injury (EL/PL) team is seeking an experienced Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive (CILEX), with 4+ years’ PQE, to join our expanding team. We welcome applications from lawyers with a range of litigation backgrounds. Prior defendant experience is not essential, and we would be pleased to consider candidates with Claimant, clinical negligence or in-house litigation experience who are keen to transition into this area of work. The Casualty Injury team specialises in employers’ liability and public liability claims, handling matters across the full range of values and complexities. You will be joining a collaborative, inclusive and genuinely supportive team, with structured and ongoing training provided to support your success in the role. The position offers exposure to a varied and high-quality EL/PL caseload, with the opportunity to play a key role in achieving positive outcomes and delivering tangible value for our clients. As part of the team, you will continue to develop your technical expertise in EL/PL personal injury work, strengthen your organisational and time-management skills, and build strong professional relationships across the firm and the wider legal and insurance market.
Job Responsibility:
Managing own caseload of multi-track EL/PL claims
taking on supervisory role supporting and overseeing a small team of Paralegals handling volume litigated EL/PL claims
technical supervision and oversight of EL/PL claims
conducting performance reviews and supporting development of team members
absence management and pastoral support of Paralegal team
monitoring team financial performance and ensuring targets met
ensuring files progressed proactively
acting as key point of contact for clients
supporting marketing and business development initiatives
Requirements:
Qualified Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive
4+ years' PQE
experienced in handling a personal injury or litigation caseload, including EL/PL or similar work types
strong team player
proactive and confident
IT-literate with good working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
well organised with ability to prioritise
analytical with ability to review evidence critically
Nice to have:
Prior defendant experience not essential
previous supervisory experience desirable but not essential
claimant, clinical negligence or in-house litigation experience welcome
