Job Description:

We are currently recruiting a calm, patient and resilient Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEMH school in the Haywards Heath area. This full-time, ongoing role involves supporting children with social, emotional and mental health needs within a structured, nurturing and inclusive learning environment.

Job Responsibility:

  • Supporting children with social, emotional and mental health needs within a structured, nurturing and inclusive learning environment
  • Helping pupils feel safe, supported and engaged in their learning
  • Working closely with teaching and pastoral staff
  • Providing consistent, individualised support
  • Adapting your approach to meet each student’s emotional, behavioural and learning needs

Requirements:

  • Experience supporting children with SEMH or challenging behaviour
  • A calm, patient and empathetic approach
  • Strong communication, teamwork and organisational skills
  • Confidence supporting pupils within the classroom
  • A proactive, resilient and compassionate attitude
  • A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
