Job Responsibility

Assembles general and specialty instruments and sets
Examines surgical instrumentation for cleanliness, proper assembly and proper performance

Check instrument performance and identify repair needs
Acts as resource on instrument identification, appropriate use, location, and availability
Decontamination of General and Specialty instruments and sets
Maintains a neat and clean work area at all times
Reports improper equipment operation to person in charge
Handles infectious waste according to established hospital procedure
Demonstrates independent function in ensuring that soiled instrumentation is decontaminated in a manner that prevents cross-contamination

Three years’ experience on drills/loaders/blades at a mine site is preferred
Ability to solve problems and troubleshoot situations arising in the pit area as needed
Ability to operate auxiliary equipment such as forklifts, overhead shop cranes, etc.
Ability to work in all types of weather conditions and at different times of day
Ability to work a flexible schedule as required by business need
Ability to work rotating shifts, weekends and overtime when required
High School Degree or GED Equivalent required
Must have the ability to stand for up to 4 hours per shift
Must have the ability to be seated for up to 4 hours to operate equipment or vehicles
Must have the ability to work from elevated positions, walk/climb up and down stairs/steps and climb on and off equipment and ladders

Dig coal and waste to ensure optimal recovery
Train more junior production employees

Monitor the control panel of the equipment to identify and correct malfunctions and service requirements
Ensure activities comply with safety, environmental and statutory requirements
