DAC Beachcroft is looking to appoint an Experienced Paralegal to join the Casualty Injury team either Remotely or in one of our offices in Newport/Birmingham/Manchester, working with an experienced, friendly team under the Partners who lead the Public Sector team within DAC Beachcroft CSG. The successful candidate will support the team in handling a wide range of mainly—but not exclusively—public sector cases for clients such as local authorities, housing associations, charities and other public bodies. The team deals predominantly with EL/PL, occupiers’ liability and highway liability claims, many of which involve complex liability issues and matters proceeding to trial.
Job Responsibility:
Work closely within a team of lawyers handling mainly casualty injury cases
Assist fee earners with all aspects of case preparation, including document review, research, witness evidence, disclosure, drafting and trial preparation
Manage a small caseload of delegated and non-delegated, appropriate-level claims under supervision
Carry out investigative tasks, prepare court documents and liaise with clients, witnesses, experts and counsel as required
Ensure full compliance with DAC Beachcroft protocols on file management, billing and credit control
Support business development and marketing activities, such as attending client training sessions and team events
Build an awareness of DAC Beachcroft’s wider services, working collaboratively with colleagues across the firm
Maintain an understanding of the firm’s strategies, values and longer-term plans
Requirements:
Paralegal with previous experience in personal injury, ideally including employers’ liability, public liability, occupiers’ liability or highway liability claims
Strong communication skills
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage deadlines, prioritise tasks and work with a high level of attention to detail
A team player with a willingness to learn, share knowledge and support others
Commercially aware, able to apply a practical approach to legal work
Adaptable and positive, with a flexible approach
