Job Description:

Our client is seeking an Experienced Load Planner with hands-on background in LTL, truckload, and expedite planning. This role is essential in ensuring freight is efficiently planned, tracked, and executed across multiple transportation modes. Most day-to-day operations are handled in OTM (Oracle Transportation Management), with MacroPoint used for real-time tracking on expedite shipments. This role requires someone who is detail-oriented, logistics-savvy, and capable of working cross-functionally with internal teams, carrier partners, and customer-facing systems.

Job Responsibility:

  • Plan and coordinate daily LTL, truckload, and expedite shipments to ensure on-time, cost-effective execution
  • Use OTM to plan, tender, and manage transportation orders
  • Track expedite loads using MacroPoint (and similar tools such as FourKites)
  • Manage and update training documents, SOPs, and process guides
  • Work within the customer portal, ensuring data and shipment updates flow accurately
  • Troubleshoot load issues, routing exceptions, and carrier-related delays
  • Collaborate with carrier partners, internal operations, and customer teams to maintain service levels
  • Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with internal and customer standards

Requirements:

  • Recent hands-on experience planning LTL, truckload, and expedite shipments
  • Experience using OTM or another TMS platform (preferred but not required)
  • Familiarity with tracking platforms such as MacroPoint or FourKites
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally
  • High attention to detail, organizational skills, and accuracy in logistics documentation
  • Ability to maintain training materials and operational procedures
  • Comfortable working in an onsite, fast-paced logistics environment
