Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Line Cook with over 5 years of experience to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for creating high-quality dishes, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and contribute to our kitchen's excellence.

Job Responsibility:

  • Prepare and cook food items according to recipes and established standards
  • Set up and stock stations with necessary supplies
  • Ensure food quality and presentation meet our high standards
  • Follow and enforce food safety and sanitation regulations
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area
  • Collaborate effectively with other kitchen staff
  • Assist in inventory management and stock rotation
  • Participate in menu development and suggest improvements
  • Train and mentor less experienced kitchen staff
  • Adapt to changing needs during busy periods

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years experience as a line cook in a professional kitchen
  • Culinary degree or relevant certification preferred
  • Thorough understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, and kitchen equipment
  • Strong knife skills and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
  • ServSafe certification (or willingness to obtain)
  • Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds
  • Proficiency in multiple cooking stations (e.g., grill, sauté, fry)
  • Ability to read and execute standardized recipes
  • Strong communication skills
  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays
  • Team player with a positive attitude

Nice to have:

  • Background in fine dining, upscale casual restaurants & or catering
  • Experience with diverse cuisines and cooking styles
  • Knowledge of current culinary trends and techniques
  • Familiarity with kitchen management software
