Whistler Blackcomb Millwrights install, maintain, repair and troubleshoot lift equipment, industrial machinery and mechanical equipment.
Job Responsibility:
Read diagrams, schematic drawings and manufactures manuals to determine work procedures
Operate lift equipment
Fit bearings, align gears and shafts, attach motors, connect couplings and belt, rebuild sheave trains, rebuild and service grips, and other lift related equipment all to manufactures specs
Align and test equipment and make necessary adjustments
Perform preventive and operational maintenance using the procedures recommended by the manufacture and developed within our department to meet regulatory and code requirements
Troubleshoot hydraulic, pneumatic and lift related equipment
Keep accurate records of work performed as well as parts used to assist in PM planning and inventory control
Ensure work orders, time sheets and lift logs are filled out correctly, legibly and returned in a timely manner
Assist the lift operations department in the development and training of lift operations staff
Assist other mountain departments when requested to by your supervisor or lead hand
Assist in the transport of mountain staff and guests to ensure a smooth operation
Supervise the work of lift maintenance apprentices and helpers
Constantly monitor the safety of yourself, fellow workers and guests
Complete our in-house training programs including but not limited to working from heights, snowmobile, truck, crane and lift ops
Use safe rigging practices
Millwrights also perform routine maintenance activities, such as cleaning and lubricating equipment and investigating breakdowns

Requirements:
Working conditions for millwrights vary from one job to another
You will be exposed to a variety of weather conditions
Hours of work vary: shift work and some overtime may be required
You will be required to work at heights in all weather conditions
The strength and stamina required to work with heavy equipment weighing in excess of 25kg
Good coordination and manual dexterity
The ability to visualize a layout by looking at plans and blueprints
The ability to comprehend and troubleshoot mechanical systems
The ability to get along with and sometimes supervise the work of others
