Job Description

Workshop are looking for an experienced and professional Gardener / Garden Maintenance Operative to join a well-established landscaping company to work on maintaining high-end private gardens and estates across the Southeast. You must have proven experience working to a professional standard in all aspects of garden maintenance, including hedge cutting and topiary work.

Job Responsibility

  • Carry out all aspects of garden maintenance including mowing, strimming, weeding, pruning, edging, and border care
  • Trim and maintain formal hedging to a high standard using both short and long-arm hedge cutters
  • Shape and maintain topiary (balls, domes, cones, spirals, etc.) with precision and care
  • Work efficiently and tidily as part of a small professional team
  • Take pride in every job and deliver a consistently high-quality finish

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in professional garden maintenance
  • Confident and competent using all common maintenance equipment, including hedge cutters and mowers
  • Excellent attention to detail and a passion for high standards
  • Reliable, hardworking, and self-motivate
  • Full, clean UK driving licence and your own transport is essential
  • Strong work ethic and a positive, can-do attitude

Nice to have

PA1/PA6 spraying licence, irrigation knowledge, machinery certificates

  • Supervise all external contractors ensuring that all necessary procedures and policies are adhered to
  • Understand and ensure the implementation of the health and safety policy, emergency and fire procedures
  • Report any faulty appliances, damaged furniture or equipment and any potential hazard to the Head of Estates/Registered Manager/Headteacher
