Join us in building the foundation of next generation hearing device platforms. You will join our Foundation Firmware area within the R&D Device SW organization — a group of about 25 highly skilled engineers working in three scrum teams. Together we build and maintain the low level firmware that forms the foundation of all Demant hearing device software platforms. Our work spans the full development flow of a resource-constrained platform — from IC specification and early bring-up, through development, verification, and production, all the way to product release. This means working in simulations, on FPGA prototypes, and on real silicon as our platforms mature. Our chipsets are internally developed, multi-core network-on-chip solutions designed for ultra-low-power audio. Our firmware platform includes hardware drivers and HAL, RTOS integration, power management, file handling, communication stacks, security, firmware update functionality and more.
Job Responsibility:
Design, develop and test efficient firmware for our chipset platform
Support hardware and production teams in bring up, calibration and verification
Contribute to the definition and development of our internally developed ICs
Implement safe and efficient C code for real time applications
Help ensure high quality through automated tests and CI/CD
Participate in team ceremonies and knowledge sharing
Requirements:
Degree in Electronics, Computer Engineering, or similar
Solid hands-on experience – at least 3 years – within embedded SW development
Embedded C programming for memory-, power- and time-constrained systems
Understanding of processor architectures and MCUs
Real time operating systems (RTOS) and real-time handling of HW
Reading HW schematics
Working with measurement instruments such as logic analyzers or oscilloscopes
Automated unit and system testing
