Job Description

We are partnering with a growing Boston-based venture capital firm seeking to add an experienced Finance Associate to join its finance and operations team. This is a unique opportunity to join a highly collaborative investment organization where the finance team plays a critical role across fund accounting, operations, reporting, and investor relations. The position offers significant exposure to senior leadership and the ability to contribute to strategic initiatives as the firm continues to scale. The organization operates in a fully remote environment and is looking for a motivated, detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced setting and enjoys building scalable processes. Compensation for this role ranges between $150-175k base + bonus, depending on qualifications and experience.

Job Responsibility

  • Support quarterly close processes, including fund valuations
  • Process investor capital activity, allocations, and fee calculations
  • Coordinate capital calls, distributions, and cash management activities
  • Partner closely with outsourced fund administrators
  • Assist with annual US GAAP financial statement preparation and audits
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with investment and legal teams
  • Drive process improvement, automation, and operational scalability initiatives
  • Review K-1 reporting and support investor relations efforts
  • Participate in special projects and strategic initiatives across the firm

Requirements

  • 4-7 years of experience in fund accounting or investment fund operations
  • Background within venture capital, private equity, or alternative investments preferred
  • Strong understanding of fund structures, investor allocations, and financial reporting
  • Advanced Excel skills required
  • automation/programming experience is a plus
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently in a flexible remote environment while managing multiple priorities
