The purpose of this program is to train Drivers with 2+ months tractor trailer driving experience to be a cross-border long haul driver. Training can include B.C. Mountains, Highway 17 in Ontario, U.S border crossings, and general highway driving. This program requires a 2 year commitment to Cross-Border Driving with Bison.
Job Responsibility:
Required to be on the road 5 to 10 days at a time
Required to be available for dispatch 24 days a month including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays
Required to drive Highway 17 in Ontario, 12 months a year
Required to sign a 2-year contract
Requirements:
Must hold a MELT certified Class 1/AZ license
Must have a minimum of 2 months tractor trailer driving experience
Must live within a one-hour commute of our Mississauga Terminal
Must be eligible to enter the United States and have the necessary border-crossing documents
Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
Must have held a valid Canadian Class 5/G License for a minimum of 1 year
Have had no preventable accidents within the past year
Have had no more than two moving violations within the previous two years
this includes speeding, improper moves, seatbelt fines, etc.
