Proven roofing experience (minimum 2+ years)
Experience installing solar PV systems on roofs
Demonstrable knowledge of DC wiring and PV system components
Understanding of MCS standards and UK solar codes of practice
Ability to read installation drawings and cable schematics
Competent at working at height, on ladders, scaffolding, and with fall-arrest equipment
Full UK driving licence

Job Responsibility

Install solar PV arrays on residential and commercial roofs (pitched, slate, tile, metal, flat)
Perform complete roof-level DC wiring, including: Module interconnections, string wiring, cable routing
DC isolators, connectors, optimisers/microinverters
Earthing/bonding of arrays and mounting structures
Ensure all installations meet MCS 020, MCS 012, manufacturer requirements, and the IET Code of Practice for Grid-Connected Solar Photovoltaic Systems
Work in accordance with: BS 7671:2018 + A2:2022 (IET Wiring Regulations)
BS EN 62446-1:2016 + A1:2018 (PV testing, inspection and documentation)
Building Regulations (Part A – Structure, Part C – Moisture, Part P – Electrical Safety)
Install mounting systems with correct structural fixings, flashings, and waterproofing
Perform visual inspections and support electrical commissioning with the lead electrician
