Job Description:

This role reports to the Head of Planning & Controlling of the Health LoB and is focused on expense planning, controlling and analysis for portfolios within the Health LoB. Job Responsibility:

  • Produce month end expense analysis that enables business users to understand their expenses, visualise trends, monitor status and inform decision making
  • Contribute to the month end and quarter end reporting by delivering clear and concise analysis and commentary on the health LoB’s expenses
  • Contribute to the preparation of financial presentations and reports to various stakeholders to include senior management and Group
  • Play an active role in the organisations 3-year financial planning process by liaising with relevant business areas to gather requirements for their expense budgets
  • Proactively review and challenge the financial plans and understand key drivers and assumptions
  • Work closely with the rest of the Health Planning & Controlling team to prepare, consolidate and submit the annual planning exercise
  • Assist in identifying risks/opportunities to achievement of the expense plan/forecast and work with the wider team to identify potential actions to mitigate the risk or realise the opportunity
  • Contribute to the implementation of new expense reporting across all portfolios within health and to implement standardisation and roll out best practice
  • Contribute to driving continuous improvement in the quality and efficiency of the expense analysis

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance/ business/ economics or related subjects (e.g. applied mathematics)
  • Part qualified accountant (ACCA/ CIMA/ ACA)
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience within a finance department – ideally in financial planning and budgeting role in an international environment
  • Strong IT skills, proficiency in MS Office, statistical programs, Excel, and database. Previous experience of using tools to streamline and automate processes advantageous
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively within a team environment and to collaborate effectively across departments
  • Motivated self-starter with ability to take ownership of tasks and deliver results within agreed deadlines
  • An analytical and inquisitive nature with ability to deliver results to a high standard of accuracy with particular attention to detail
  • Excellent command of English language (oral and written)
