Job Description:

A global sporting goods retailer known for aggressively expanding its presence across the world.

Job Responsibility:

  • Perform market and competitor analysis
  • Negotiate leasing-related matters
  • Scout for feasible locations for new store development and business expansion
  • Present the brand's retail concept to prospective landlords
  • Evaluate the existing store portfolio to manage rent reduction, lease renewals, and terminations
  • Draw up feasibility studies and coordinate with all internal stakeholders (e.g., Legal, Technical, and Design teams) for each project
  • Make profitable Gross Operating Income (GOI) at the city level through renegotiations, relocations, and store closures and openings
  • Explore the possibility of expansion using different formats (e.g., mini-stores, anchor stores, commercial street shops, standalone stores)

Requirements:

  • Diploma or Degree in Business, Real Estate, Marketing, or a related field
  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience in retail store expansion, with a proven track record
  • Extensive network with landlords and property owners
  • Experience in rapid expansion within relevant industries (e.g., retail and related sectors with different store formats)
  • Strong familiarity with the Malaysian market, including a well-developed local network and in-depth knowledge
  • Open-minded and adaptable, with a willingness to learn and be agile in a fast-paced environment
  • Passion for sports and an active lifestyle (not necessarily a professional athlete, but actively engaged)
  • Excellent project management and stakeholder engagement skills
