Performs cardiac rehabilitation functions to facilitate patient cardiac fitness. Participates in process of assisting the patient with cardiac risk factor reduction.
Job Responsibility:
Performs cardiac rehabilitation functions to facilitate patient cardiac fitness
Participates in process of assisting the patient with cardiac risk factor reduction
Instructs community exercise programs in land, aquatic, and virtual based classes
Instructs personal training sessions
Screens community participants for safety/appropriateness for community exercise program
Provides education to community participants within scope of position
Monitors class volumes and alerts community programs manager if too high or low
Inspires participant loyalty to programs via class instruction techniques
Assists in the maintenance of the department’s overall physical environment
Maintains practices according to infection control guidelines for the department
Monitors pool chemistry per departmental guidelines as applicable to area
Works with Rehab Team members to ensure all equipment is cleaned before and after each use
Performs clerical duties to assist with daily operations of the department
Communicates effectively with staff, peers, colleagues, patients, and family members in all manners of communication
Appropriately uses all forms of South Shore Health communication in accordance with standard practices
Responds in a timely manner when feedback is requested
Serves as mentor to new community programs staff
Actively participates in department projects/events/activities including program marketing
Actively promotes rehabilitation services to frontline colleagues, patients, and families
Serves as ambassador for department to visitors
Assists with continuous Quality Improvement activities, as directed
Takes responsibility for continuing professional development education
Possesses a willingness and ability to learn and utilize new technology and procedures
Embraces technological advances that allow us to communicate information effectively and efficiently based on role
Accurately uses software applications as needed for job performance
Manage a professional and appropriate manner of conversation
Maintain composure during stressful situations
Effective interpersonal and communication skills
Complete clinical and nonclinical tasks as well as assigned activities according to policies, practice guidelines and assigned deadlines

Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in exercise-related field preferred
Minimum of one year previous healthcare/exercise experience preferred
Previous coursework and/or participation in work or volunteer experience in the area of health, fitness, or athletics
BLS - Basic Life Support
