Job Responsibility:

  • Provide support to all MAF and CAF certification exercises as a Subject Matter Expert or as part of an exercise support team by assisting with identifying and publishing MESL/METL requirements to be executed during FE certification exercises/events
  • Assist in developing and validating METLs/MESLs and associated exercise materials for Deployable Combat Wing and other FE certifying exercises/events
  • Maintain awareness and coordinate with assigned wings and DRUs on current and predicted operational environments, missions, and requirements
  • Attend planning conferences to include development, initial, mid, and final planning conferences for up to 4 exercises per year
  • Assist in the evaluation of the supporting exercise training systems as they impact training
  • Lead and train unit exercise control cells in support of HQ or wing-level exercises/events
  • Assist in development and maintenance of the METLs/MESLs for HHQ and 100, 200, 300, and 400 level wing certification exercises/events
  • Assist with other assigned staff to support mission directives
  • Ensure exercise observational data is collected, stored, and analyzed to support after action reviews, lessons learned, and organizational feedback for certification
  • Ensure collected data is stored in approved wing dossiers to provide commanders a holistic picture of wing performance in preparation for worldwide deployments and contingency operations
  • Oversee periodic stakeholder updates and train observers in exercise observation data collection
  • Oversee long term planning and develop plan of action and milestones of wing exercises

Requirements:

  • Security Clearance Required: Secret
  • Be familiar with Lead Wing, Expeditionary Air Base, and other FE requirements and AFFORGEN Certification requirements, process
  • Experience assessing Lead Wing and FE readiness using readiness tools, including Palantir’s Envision’s AFFORGEN Certification platform
  • At least two years’ exercise planning experience
  • Two years of joint or Service component operational planning experience
