Exercise Physiologist

• Assist with supervision, counseling and exercise program planning of cardiac patients in the cardiac rehabilitation program
• Develop individual exercise prescriptions
• Ensure adherence to Hospitals and departmental policies and procedures
• Review qualified patient charts and complete program paperwork for patient entrance into the program
• Schedule patients for screening interview prior to entrance into the program
• Assist with scheduling tests necessary for entrance into the program
• Review client charts and complete paperwork for entrance to program
• Evaluate program client exercise performance, and develop exercise prescription and training program
• Administer exercise session of cardiac clients
• Monitor client care delivery in accordance with quality assurance standards
• ensure documentation of all client care activities
• Operate treadmill machine in conjunction with electrocardiograph
• provide documentation to test administrator prior to procedure initiation
• Ensure consent forms for procedure are in order
• Obtain test information from patient requisition forms including past heart disorders or special medication affecting test results and procedures
• Maintain equipment, order and stock supplies, maintain patient care areas
• Notify supervisor of unusual conditions or patient behaviors
• Review stress test results noting appropriate information
• Perform quality assurance in monitoring test results and document patient care activities
• Follow patient safety-related policies, procedures and protocols
• Demonstrate proactive approach to patient safety by seeking opportunities to improve patient safety through questioning of current policies and processes
• Identify and report/correct environmental conditions and/or situations that may put a patient at undue risk
• Report potential or actual patient safety concerns, medical errors and/or near misses in a timely manner
• Encourage patients to actively participate in their own care by asking questions and reporting treatment or situations that they don't understand or may not seem right

• Bachelor's Degree in Related Discipline
• CPR for Healthcare/BLS Prov or Prof Rescuers w/in 30 days
