Job Description:

At Allianz Commercial (AzC), a global leader in corporate property insurance, the Executive Underwriter position involves underwriting profitable new and renewal business in line with regional strategies, supporting team development, and contributing to key industry projects. The role requires specialized knowledge in corporate property, advanced risk assessment capabilities, and relationship building with brokers and clients.

Job Responsibility:

  • Contribute to development and execution of regional underwriting strategy for LoB regionally
  • Training, developing and coaching of experienced staff
  • Manage complex referrals from underwriters and re-underwrite complex business as appropriate
  • Underwrite new and renewal accounts to meet top and bottom-line targets
  • Negotiate price and terms and conditions with producers
  • Proactively manage capacity
  • Underwrite and evaluate natural catastrophe accumulation
  • Underwrite international insurance programs
  • Develop and maintain relationships with producers and clients
  • Ensure accurate policy documentation issuance and file maintenance
  • Support policy administration and credit control processes
  • Support acquisition of new business and retention of existing business
  • Participate and contribute to key projects.

Requirements:

  • A minimum 7 years’ proven track record in underwriting profitable Property business with greater than 7 years’ property experience
  • Experience underwriting property insurance products such as large commercial property risks, manufacturing, real estate, retail, public entity, and healthcare facilities, OR having worked this line of business in a broker role
  • In-depth understanding of LoB products, portfolio, regional/local insurance markets and competitor landscape
  • Demonstrable, established relationships with brokers at the peer group level and well established within local market
  • Preferably a bachelor’s degree in Insurance, Risk Management, Finance, Economics, or Business Administration
  • Ability to assess risk inherent exposures and natural hazards relevant to LoB
  • Ability to analyze highly complex data from multiple sources, in detail, and identify and resolve issues before they transpire.
