You’ll play a pivotal role in shaping the successful delivery of nationally significant infrastructure projects across rail, utilities, defence, aviation, and highways. You will also provide leadership, guide junior staff, support Directors, and actively contribute to business growth.
Job Responsibility:
Lead and manage project costs across new builds, refurbishments, and maintenance projects
Provide strategic cost advice from inception to final account and ensure high-quality deliverables
Build and maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships
Prepare cost plans, estimates, option studies, and cost-in-use analyses
Advise on procurement strategies, manage tenders, and evaluate submissions
Value completed work, manage payments, and settle final accounts
Provide technical advice on legal and contractual matters, administering contracts as required
Produce and present professional client reports
Mentor and develop team members, supporting their career progression
Manage service delivery to ensure profitability and advise Directors on project risks
Requirements:
Experience in cost management (quantity surveying) across UK infrastructure sector (Rail, Utilities, Aviation, Water, Highways, Maritime, Defence etc)
Strong NEC Contract (NEC3 or NEC4) experience and knowledge
Actively identifying new business development opportunities and driving growth across Business Units
Experience managing various pre- and post-contract projects
Good understanding of construction methods and contracts
Sound knowledge and practical experience of cost estimating and cost planning techniques
Organised, methodical, and solutions-focused
Comfortable managing multiple priorities
Team player with leadership and mentoring experience
Nice to have:
Professional qualifications and/or membership of the RICS, CIOB, CICES, CIPS or another relevant Chartered Institute are desirable
Ideally MRICS qualified or working towards chartership
