Executive Producer

• Craft and understand all aspects of the newscast rundown
• Oversee the preparation of a rundown and scripts for newscasts
• Identify opportunities for big story coverage, team coverage and overall oversight of brand management in the newscast
• React swiftly and appropriately to breaking news on all platforms
• Communicate effectively with news staff
• Manage a growing streaming team and pioneering original programming and live-streaming
• Lead a growing streaming team and pioneer original programming for the platform
• Copy edit stories in the newscast and ensure they are editorially and journalistically sound
• Hold producers accountable on story selection
• Ensure anchors and meteorologists stay on point with delivery
• Monitor execution in the control room
• Set coverage expectations with news staff and hold meetings to conduct newscast critiques
• Assist in establishing schedules, goal setting, and employee relations

• Minimum of three years’ experience working in a TV newsroom as a major market producer or smaller market news manager
• Must be flexible and able to handle pressure and meet deadlines
• Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, or related field
• Minimum 3 years’ experience managing a team of direct reports
• Exceptional news and editorial judgment
• Flawless writing and copy editing skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with high professionalism
• High standard of quality and attention to detail
• Deadline driven
• Social media, streaming and overall digital enthusiast
