Job Description:

Executive Pastry Chef position at The Ritz-Carlton Amman, accountable for overall success of daily pastry operations. Exhibits creative baking and decorating talents while leading staff in preparing quality pastries. Works to improve guest and employee satisfaction while maintaining operating budget. Responsible for guiding and developing staff, ensuring sanitation and food standards are achieved.

Job Responsibility:

Accountable for overall success of daily pastry operations
Supervise and manage pastry staff
Develop and design new pastry items
Maintain food preparation and storage standards
Ensure compliance with laws and regulations
Assist with menu development for pastry
Operate and maintain department equipment
Monitor customer service and handle guest complaints
Manage budgets and inventory control
Train employees in safety procedures and menu items

Requirements:

High school diploma or GED
4 years experience in culinary, food and beverage, or related professional area
OR 2-year degree from an accredited university in Culinary Arts, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major
2 years experience in culinary, food and beverage, or related professional area
Supervisory experience in pastry operations
Food handling and sanitation certifications
Understanding of pastry preparation and baking techniques
Menu development skills
Inventory management experience
Training and staff development skills

Nice to have:

Media representation experience
Pastry class facilitation skills
