Crescent Hotels & Resorts is honored to announce an exciting opportunity for a talented Executive Meetings Manager for the JW Marriott Reston Station! The hotel features 248 rooms spread across 12 floors, setting a new standard for luxury accommodations in the DMV area. With the largest luxury meeting space in Northern Virginia, totaling 35,000 sq ft, it includes two ballrooms with 20-foot ceilings and plenty of natural light from floor-to-ceiling windows and a large skylight. The JW Residences occupy the remaining 16 floors. Job Responsibility:

  • Prospect for new business – participate in sales blitzes, cold calling and contacting former clients to solicit new business and attends industry events/programs as needed
  • Responds in a timely manner to incoming group/catering business opportunities
  • Ensures that all business is booked within hotel parameters
  • Conducts hotel site inspections and client presentations
  • Create contracts and other related booking documentation as required
  • Manage and maintain client account files
  • Builds and maintains strong client relationships
  • Detail events to include all food & beverage, set up and audio visual needs
  • Ask appropriate questions of the clients and make suggestions to ensure the details meet the group and the hotel’s needs
  • Create group resumes and communicate client needs to all departments of the hotel
  • Ensure hotel staff follows through on all requests
  • Represent JW Marriott’s brand identity, values and pillars

Requirements:

  • 2–5 years of experience in event management, catering, or luxury hospitality
  • Experience with high-profile or executive-level meetings preferred
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills with exceptional attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to remain calm and solution-oriented in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in event management systems (e.g., Delphi, CI/TY) and Microsoft Office
  • Self-starting personality with an even disposition
  • Can communicate well with guests
  • Must be willing to 'pitch-in' and help co-workers with their job duties and be a team player
  • Can do, problem solver personality
  • Friendly disposition with a passion for hospitality
  • Team player who strives to support others and likes to win as a team
  • Previous Marriott experience preferred
