The Executive Director will join CSL’s Sports and Entertainment division leadership team, working alongside other project leaders who guide the firm’s feasibility and advisory engagements for new and redeveloped sports and entertainment facilities. This role will oversee a team of analysts and lead the market research, feasibility analysis, and strategic advisory process for approximately 25% of CSL’s active projects, with the opportunity to expand responsibilities as the firm continues to grow. The Director will play a key role in shaping insights that drive client decisions related to project scale, facility programming, and investment strategy.
Job Responsibility:
Lead and oversee market and financial feasibility analyses that provide actionable insights to address client challenges and guide strategy for major sports, entertainment, and civic projects
Guide research design and interpretation, integrating quantitative data, surveys, and qualitative insights to uncover consumer/fan motivations, market opportunities, and behavioral trends
Monitor and interpret industry, market, and consumer trends to proactively identify opportunities and risks that influence client strategies and CSL thought leadership
Develop and deliver strategic recommendations by translating research findings into clear priorities, implications, and business decisions for clients
Serve as a key client liaison, managing relationships, facilitating working sessions, and presenting insights and recommendations to senior stakeholders
Ensure analytical rigor and process innovation, advancing CSL’s approach to data analytics, visualization, and integration of third-party tools and benchmarking sources
Oversee development of executive communications, including reports, presentations, and client deliverables that clearly convey the story behind the data
Mentor and manage a team of analysts, fostering a culture of intellectual curiosity, collaboration, and professional growth
Requirements:
5+ years of progressive experience in market research, management consulting, or consumer insights, including client-facing strategy development
1+ years of people-management experience, ideally leading research or consulting teams
Demonstrated expertise in designing, executing, and integrating qualitative and quantitative research to produce actionable, customer-driven insights
Strong understanding of consumer behavior, marketing strategy, and business analytics
Proven ability to synthesize complex research into concise insights and compelling narratives that influence senior leadership decisions
Experience with data visualization, automation, and predictive analytics tools preferred
Self-starter with exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and strategic-thinking skills
Excellent communication and presentation abilities
Bachelor’s degree in Business Analytics, Economics, Psychology, Marketing, or a related field required
Willingness to travel for client presentations, in-market research, and stakeholder engagement
