The Executive Director is responsible for the management of the organization within the guidelines and mission of St. Landry-Evangeline United Way and United Way Worldwide. This position requires the ability to function within a multi-faceted agency with centralized administrative policy and procedures.
Job Responsibility:
Manage or direct the management of the overall operation of the organization, including campaign, fund development, and special events
Establish and direct the implementation of policies and procedures in compliance with funding, licensing, accreditation standards of United Way Worldwide
Oversee design, marketing, promotion, delivery and quality of programs, products and services
Assure the organization and its mission, programs, products and services are consistently presented in strong, positive images to relevant stakeholders
Serve as representative to LAUW (Louisiana Association of United Ways), VOAD (Volunteer Organizations Active in Disasters), and any other pertinent associations or groups
Establish and maintain effective communication with the Board, community groups, funded agencies, funding sources, staff, clients, media, etc
Manage or supervise the management of all personnel functions, including the direct hiring, firing, training and evaluation of staff
Work with the Finance Committee to prepare, analyze and monitor the approved operating budget
Manage or supervise the management of the physical resources of the program
Protect the assets of the organization
Prepare or supervise the preparation of required reports and their submission on a timely basis to the board, and to United Way Worldwide, as well as grantors when appropriate
Lead the Board in long- and short-range planning for community impact initiatives and community needs assessment
Perform other duties as negotiated with the Board of Directors
Requirements:
Bachelor degree in Business administration / Management
3 - 5 years of experience
Professional, organizational and managerial skills
Ability to evaluate program functioning and design new programs
High degree of interpersonal relationship skills
Ability to communicate effectively with board, personnel, officials, funding sources, community groups, volunteers and agency representatives
Ability to prepare operating budget and analyze financial position
Ability to prepare accurate reports
Ability to manage physical resources
English language proficiency
