Job Description:

Support CVS Health's financial integrity with sound reserving and risk management practices as well as product designs that meet customer needs and pricing that produces returns to shareholders commensurate with the risks undertaken. Actuarial is responsible for anticipating and recognizing matters that materially affect financial integrity and making sound, unbiased reports on these issues.

Job Responsibility:

  • Support CVS Health's financial integrity with sound reserving and risk management practices
  • Product designs that meet customer needs and pricing that produces returns to shareholders commensurate with the risks undertaken
  • Anticipating and recognizing matters that materially affect financial integrity and making sound, unbiased reports on these issues

Requirements:

  • Monthly, determine required actuarial liabilities for the DCS / Med Supp businesses
  • Serve as the appointed actuary for various legal entities, including providing annual actuarial opinions and memorandums
  • Serves as a business partner to the DCS / Med Supp business actuarial and finance teams
  • Oversee the statutory PDR process for all lines of business
  • Complete annual gross premium valuations for Medicare Supplement business
  • Manage the relationship with the external vendor for cash flow testing work
  • Lead vendor payment workstream in support of statutory medical loss ratio reporting
  • Provides required materials and responds to internal and external auditor questions
  • Builds tools and models that help to understand and address variances to expected performance
  • Bachelor's degree
  • FSA or ASA of the Society of Actuaries
  • Member of the American Academy of Actuaries
  • Meets the Specific Qualification Standard of the American Academy of Actuaries, for providing a Statement of Actuarial Opinion, NAIC Health Annual Statement
