Job Responsibility:
Under the director of the Chief Nurse Officer, is responsible for the daily operations of 120 beds in between Intensive Care (ICU) and Ambulatory Care Units (ACU)
Maintains management responsibility and accountability for clinical practice of nursing for multiple units
Manages programs and runs monthly Quality Assurance and Process Improvement (QAPI)
Participates in regional and national management organizations, keeping well informed on issues affecting patient care services and giving visibility to University Health
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in nursing and current registration with the Board of Nurse Examiners for the State of Texas is required (Magnet)
Master’s Degree is required or enrollment in a master’s program
National certification (e.g. CCRN, RNC, CEN, CNOR, OCN, ANCC, CAN, CPAN, CFRN, etc.) in related field is required
Eight to ten years’ experience in nursing with at least two years in a supervisor or managerial position is preferred
Experience in a community hospital preferred
Current license from the Board of Nurse Examiners of the State of Texas to practice as a registered nurse is required
