Job Description

In this vital role, the Executive Director, Patient Access & Reimbursement (Medical Benefit) is part of the Patient Access and Reimbursement leadership team and reports to Head of Patient Access and Reimbursement. This role leads the teams responsible for shaping the current and future strategy for the Medical Benefit portfolio.

Job Responsibility

  • Provide oversight, leadership, and direction with respect to the patient access strategy and overall fulfillment journey for brands under the medical benefit, including Bone, Tezspire, Nephrology, Oncology, Retina, Avsola
  • Oversee development, maintenance, and execution of access plans on all covered products
  • Engage with brand leads and relevant GMs to ensure alignment and consistency with overarching brand strategy
  • Promote an environment of innovation and continuous improvement in helping patients gain access to Amgen medicines
  • Demonstrate a commitment to team well-being and development
  • Ensure teams are operating compliantly
  • Establish team-level goals and priorities to accomplish and how to measure and track success
  • Collaborate with US Value and Access and other cross functional teams/peers to deliver broader access goals for the respective brands
  • Collaborate with Patient Access and Reimbursement Leadership team in support of vision and team
  • Lead, develop, and overall inspire a team working toward the same mission and goals

Requirements

  • Doctorate degree & 6 years of Access, Marketing, and/or Sales Leadership experience
  • Master’s degree & 10 years of Access, Marketing, and/or Sales Leadership experience
  • Bachelor’s degree & 12 years of Access, Marketing and/or Sales Leadership experience
  • 6 years of managerial experience directly managing people and/or leadership experience leading teams, projects, programs or directing the allocation of resources

Nice to have

  • 10 years of Access, Marketing, and/or Sales Leadership experience
  • Leadership experience in managing leaders of leaders
  • Direct US payer, managed care, and medical benefit experience and/or health policy experience highly desirable
  • Executive communication and presentation skills
  • Experience developing strategies to optimize patient access within highly competitive markets
