The Sturm College of Law seeks to hire a visionary and nationally respected expert in the field of property rights and policy to serve as the inaugural Director of its Juhan Program in Property Rights and Policy, which advances research, teaching, and public engagement at the intersection of private property rights and governmental powers.
Job Responsibility:
Collaborate with the Dean, faculty, staff, and other interested internal and external stakeholders on initiatives designed to enhance the stature, visibility, and impact of the Juhan Program
Organize Program-related events, including lectures, conferences, and visits to campus by distinguished experts
Engage external partners and stakeholders, including law firms, oil and gas companies, energy companies, real estate developers, governmental officials, non-profit organizations and foundations, and other partners interested in issues at the intersection of private property rights and governmental regulation
Work with the Executive Associate Dean of Academic Affairs to develop an expanded suite of upper-division courses on specialized topics relating to private property and/or governmental regulation
Partner with the law school's Externship and Career Development Offices to expand opportunities for students and recent graduates with organizations focused on private property rights and/or governmental regulation
Requirements:
J.D. degree (or its equivalent)
Expertise in the field of property rights and policy
Ability to convene leading experts to discuss cutting-edge issues in the field
Potential and interest in effectively teaching and mentoring law students
