Position Summary: CVS Health is seeking an experienced leader to serve as Executive Director (ED), Enterprise Strategy, supporting our Health Care Delivery (HCD) business. As a key member of the Enterprise Strategy team, the ED will lead high-impact initiatives, provide strategic counsel, and guide high-performing strategy colleagues in solving the most critical challenges facing our healthcare industry. This role will report into Head of Strategy for HCD and partner frequently with HCD business leaders at EVP and SVP level. The ED will lead strategic, operational, and fiscal initiatives across the HCD organization that includes Oak Street Health, Signify Health and Retail Health. This role will report into the AVP, Enterprise Strategy (Health Care Delivery) and can be remote or hybrid with expectation for 10-20% travel for in-person meetings with senior leaders and strategy teams.

Job Responsibility

  • Support multi-year strategic planning
  • Be a key leader on internal consulting projects for HCD leadership
  • Identify and evaluate growth opportunities in care delivery and serve as a strategic advisor to the HCD business leadership team
  • Collaborate with other Enterprise Strategy leads to identify opportunities for alignment or synergies across strategic imperatives
  • Monitor emerging industry trends, competitor actions, and disruptive forces across HCD business areas to develop and deliver actionable strategic insights to HCD Leadership Team on an ongoing basis
  • Effectively facilitate large scale meetings and strategic workshops, including preparation and driving tangible outcomes
  • Develop communication with internal and external audiences, including ELT leaders and Board of Directors
  • Collaborate with other enterprise teams including Corporate Development, Ventures, Investor Relations, Finance, Legal, Government Affairs, Technology and Clinical
  • Support building and leading a high-performing strategy team and foster a culture of strategic thinking, data-driven decision-making, and innovation
  • Directly manage and serve as mentor for junior strategy team members

Requirements

  • 15+ years of related experience at a top management consulting firm, in-house strategy team at a large health care company, or a related growth / strategy focus in a health care setting
  • Proven track record of managing a portfolio of projects and initiatives simultaneously, and leading cross-functional teams, including external advisors, on strategy deep dive projects
  • Ability to lead a high-performing small team that provides consistent error-free analysis and recommendations to ELT and Board level stakeholders
  • Requires significant subject matter expertise in health care delivery
  • Bachelor's Degree Required
