Job Description:

Lead the Life & Health (L&H) claims function for the local reinsurance office in Southeast Asia, ensuring efficient, fair, and compliant claims management. Drive technical excellence, operational efficiency, and strategic initiatives to support sustainable growth, client trust, and regulatory compliance across diverse SEA markets.

Job Responsibility:

  • Claims Leadership & Strategy: Define and execute claims strategy aligned with SEA business objectives
  • Operational Excellence: Oversee end-to-end claims handling for life and health treaties and facultative business
  • Regulatory & Governance: Ensure compliance with local regulations across SEA jurisdictions
  • Client & Market Engagement: Act as the primary claims contact for cedents, and internal stakeholders
  • Data Analytics & Insights: Analyze claims experience and trends to support pricing, underwriting, and product development
  • Team Leadership: Lead and develop a high-performing claims team with expertise in life and health

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) in vocational rehabilitation or health-related field required
  • Master’s degree in Arts/Sciences (MA/MS) preferably in a field associated with medicine or law preferred
  • 10+ Years of experience in life and health insurance/reinsurance claims, with at least 3 years in a leadership role required
  • Familiarity with SEA regulatory frameworks and cross-border operations required
  • Proven experience in managing complex claims and client negotiations required
  • Strong technical knowledge of mortality, morbidity, medical, and disability products required
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills required
  • Strategic thinking and decision-making required
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills required
  • High integrity and professional ethics required
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment required
