Executive Chef position at Sheraton Wenzhou Hotel responsible for exhibiting culinary talents while leading staff and managing all food related functions. Works to improve guest and employee satisfaction while maximizing financial performance. Oversees all kitchen areas to ensure consistent, high quality products and guides staff development while maintaining sanitation and food standards.
Job Responsibility:
Exhibits culinary talents by personally performing tasks while assisting in leading the staff
Manages all food related functions
Works to continually improve guest and employee satisfaction
Maximizes financial performance in all areas of responsibility
Supervises all kitchen areas to ensure consistent, high quality product
Guides and develops staff including direct reports
Ensures sanitation and food standards are achieved
Oversees all food preparation areas and support areas
Provides direction for menu development
Monitors quality of raw and cooked food products
Creates decorative food displays
Manages department controllable expenses including food cost, supplies, uniforms and equipment
Participates in budgeting process
Provides and supports exceptional customer service
Manages day-to-day operations
Handles guest problems and complaints
Conducts human resource activities including training and performance management
Requirements:
High school diploma or GED
6 years experience in the culinary, food and beverage, or related professional area
OR 2-year degree from an accredited university in Culinary Arts, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major
4 years experience in the culinary, food and beverage, or related professional area
Understanding of employee positions to perform duties in employees' absence
Ability to provide guidance and direction to subordinates
Interpersonal and communication skills to lead, influence, and encourage others
Knowledge of food handling and sanitation standards
