The Executive Assistant (EA) to Humana’s Chief Information Officer (CIO) is a key administrative partner supporting & reporting to the CIO and engaging Humana’s dynamic Information Technology leadership team. This position requires exceptional organizational ability, strong communication skills, and a commitment to Humana’s values of Caring, Curious, and Committed. The successful candidate will anticipate needs, exercise sound judgment, and foster a collaborative environment that enables Humana’s technology strategy and culture. Seen as a trusted advisor to the CIO, the incumbent will work closely with the Technology Chief of Staff to keep the CIO’s work scope structured, planful, and adjust priorities as needed.
Job Responsibility:
Proactively manage and prioritize the CIO’s complex calendar, including coordinating meetings and internal events across Humana’s enterprise and external partners, and arranging travel in accordance with Humana policy
Serve as a liaison between the CIO, IT leaders, Executive Leadership Team, and stakeholders, handling sensitive information with the highest level of confidentiality and professionalism
Prepare executive-level materials, including documenting notes/action items and communications tailored for Humana’s audience and strategic initiatives
Partner with the COO and Chief of Staff to support the CIO’s engagement in strategic forums, leadership meetings, town halls, and enterprise events, including agenda creation, logistics, and post-event action tracking
Maintain excellent working relationships with key partners in Humana’s business and technology domains, including cross-functional collaboration with HR, Legal, Compliance, and segment business teams
Take on special assignments or projects, managing these initiatives, including tracking milestones, reporting progress, and following up on deliverables
Manage expense reporting, travel reconciliation, and other administrative tasks in accordance with Humana’s policies and compliance standards
Uphold Humana’s Information Protection Acceptable Use Policy and other regulatory guidelines in all communications and administrative processes
Champion a culture of inclusion, well-being, and continuous improvement by supporting CIO-led communications aligned with Humana’s values
Partner closely with the EA community at Humana to collaborate and manage the Executive Leadership Team as a cohesive unit
Flexibility to sub for other execs as needed
Own IT leadership meeting schedules and logistics, both in-person and virtual
Support onboarding of new IT leadership
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience
Minimum 5 years’ experience supporting C-suite or senior leaders, ideally in a technology or healthcare setting
Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, Zoom and virtual collaboration tools (e.g., Teams)
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
ability to draft communications for executive audiences
Strong organizational skills and ability to adapt in a fast-paced, evolving environment
Proven ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion
Commitment to Humana’s purpose of helping people achieve their best health
Comfort using AI tools for day-to-day productivity
Familiarity with agile ways of working
Comfort coordinating with external stakeholders on behalf of executive leadership
Nice to have:
Experience supporting senior leadership within a Fortune 100 or healthcare organization
Familiarity with IT terminology, digital transformation, and Humana’s or similar sector strategic priorities
Project management experience or formal training
