Executive Assistant to Head of Service North London. Contract: 3-month ongoing contract. Pay Rate: £29.00 per hour (Umbrella). Hours: Full-time (37 hours per week). About the Role We are seeking an experienced and highly organised Executive Assistant to provide high-level support to a Head of Service within a busy public sector environment. This is a pivotal role requiring exceptional organisational skills, discretion, and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced setting. The successful candidate will act as a trusted point of contact, ensuring the effective coordination of the Head of Service’s day-to-day activities while supporting the smooth operation of the wider management team.
Job Responsibility:
Provide comprehensive executive-level PA support to the Head of Service
Manage complex diary management, scheduling meetings, appointments, and prioritising commitments
Coordinate meetings, prepare agendas, collate papers, and take accurate minutes as required
Handle correspondence, briefing notes, and reports, ensuring deadlines are met
Act as a key liaison point between the Head of Service, senior managers, external partners, and stakeholders
Track actions, chase responses, and ensure follow-up on key decisions
Support the coordination of projects, initiatives, and service priorities
Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with professionalism
Assist with the smooth running of the office and administrative systems
Requirements:
Proven experience working as an Executive Assistant or Senior Personal Assistant supporting a senior manager or Head of Service
Experience within a local authority or public sector environment (highly desirable)
Excellent organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities
Experience working in a council or housing association
Advanced IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams
