The town of Norton seeks a professional, organized, and service-oriented Executive Assistant to support the Town Manager and provide administrative support to the Select Board and assigned committees. This position serves as a primary point of contact for residents, businesses, and town staff and is responsible for preparing agendas, drafting meeting minutes, processing licenses, assisting with accounts payable, and preparing procurement and contract documentation using established templates.
Job Responsibility:
Drafting Select Board, Finance Committee, and Capital Improvements Committee agendas
Preparing minutes from attendance or recordings and routing them for approval
Receiving and processing licensing applications (e.g., alcohol, common victualler, entertainment)
Preparing accounts payable packets for review/signature
Drafting RFPs/IFBs/quotes and maintaining contract files (support role only)
Maintaining organized digital records and providing courteous public service at the Town Manager’s Office front desk
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent
two to four years administrative experience preferred
municipal experience helpful
must demonstrate strong communication, confidentiality, organization, and computer skills
