Growing company seeking an Income Tax Analyst to join our dynamic team at a well-established construction company located in Central Houston. This is a unique opportunity to grow your career in a supportive environment, while gaining exposure to tax compliance, planning, and strategic development alongside a collaborative and experienced Tax Director.

Job Responsibility:

  • Assist in the preparation and timely filing of federal income tax returns for consolidated entities and the Texas Franchise Tax Return
  • Calculate and monitor income tax payments to ensure accuracy and timeliness
  • Conduct tax research to evaluate compliance with evolving tax laws and regulations
  • Assess and communicate the impact of tax regulation changes on the organization
  • Collaborate with the Tax Director and external advisors in the preparation and review of tax filings
  • Maintain organized and updated tax records and documentation
  • Manage correspondence and respond to inquiries from tax authorities
  • Assist with drafting presentations on tax matters for internal stakeholders
  • Support the team on strategic tax planning initiatives, including but not limited to property tax and sales and use tax
  • Provide general support to the Accounting Department as necessary and appropriate

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in tax accounting OR experience through a Big 4 internship
  • Strong understanding of federal and state income tax regulations, with familiarity in Texas Franchise Tax being a plus
  • Ability to analyze and interpret complex tax laws and regulations
  • Excellent organization, communication, and collaboration skills
  • CPA eligibility is preferred but not required
  • Proficiency in Excel
  • Familiarity with compliance procedures
  • Experience in corporate income tax
  • Knowledge of corporate tax compliance
  • Proficiency in using Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations
