Job Description

We are looking for an experienced and highly organised Exams Officer to join our client's Data Services team. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the registration and administration of all examinations and awards within the organisation, ensuring the smooth and compliant operation of the examination process. You will lead a small team and work closely with staff across the organisation to deliver an efficient, customer-focused service to students and colleagues.

Job Responsibility

  • Manage all exam registrations and entries in line with requirements and deadlines
  • Organise and coordinate all exam arrangements (paper-based and online), including secure handling of exam papers and returning scripts
  • Maintain accurate records of results and achievements in the systems to meet audit requirements
  • Liaise with tutors and support teams to ensure fair access and special arrangements for students with additional needs
  • Supervise, train, and coordinate exam invigilators, delivering induction and training sessions as required
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant exam regulations, policies, and procedures
  • Handle queries from internal and external stakeholders, providing excellent customer service

Requirements

  • Strong organisational and administrative skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to manage deadlines and work flexibly, including occasional out-of-hours work
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience in exams administration or a similar role is desirable
  • Competent in data management and IT systems
  • Leadership experience with the ability to train and motivate staff
