Sherborne Schools Group is seeking a dynamic and communicative Exam Invigilators to will be responsible for exam invigilation at Sherborne Girls (SG) while their primary place of work will be SG, the postholder will also be expected to contribute to and support initiatives across the wider Sherborne Schools Group. From time to time, they may be required to work at other schools or sites within the Group to meet the needs of the business. This role provides an exciting opportunity to play a central part in both the success of the individual school and the continued development of the Group as a whole.
Job Responsibility:
Ensuring the smooth running of examinations in accordance with the regulations
Ensuring the examination environment is calm and orderly
Ensuring examinations are conducted in such a manner that there can be no suggestion of improper conduct, unfairness, advantage or disadvantage to any candidate
Supervision of clash candidates between exam sessions
Facilitating access arrangements for candidates, for example as a reader, scribe etc. (full training will be provided)
Exams-related administrative tasks
Requirements:
To work as part of the invigilating team to ensure all examinations are conducted in accordance with the instructions of the Awarding Bodies and Sherborne Girls
To play a key role in upholding the integrity of the examination/assessment process
To report to the Examinations Officer prior to each exam session
To keep examination papers and materials secure before, during and after examinations
To ensure examination rooms are set out to standard
To admit candidates into examination rooms
To identify, seat, and instruct candidates in the conduct of their examinations
To distribute the correct examination papers and materials to candidates
To respond to and resolve candidate queries
To supervise candidates at all times and be vigilant throughout examinations
To keep disruption to a minimum
To respond to and resolve emergencies or irregularities effectively
To record/report any disruption or irregularities
To complete attendance registers
To deal with candidate queries
To collect examination scripts, question papers and any other examination material
To dismiss candidates from the exam room
To ensure candidate names on the scripts match exactly the details on the attendance register
To securely return all examination scripts, question papers and any other examination material to the examinations officer
To attend training, refresher or review sessions as required
To undertake, where required and where able, other duties requested by the Examinations Officer
