This is a high-responsibility, full-time position dedicated to the rigorous administration of the summer examination series. Starting directly after the Easter break, the role involves the total oversight of the examination environment to ensure all assessments are conducted fairly and securely. The successful candidate will be the primary guardian of the exam hall, responsible for everything from the initial identity checks to the final secure sealing of scripts. This is a position for a disciplined professional who understands that the integrity of the results depends on their unwavering adherence to protocol.
Job Responsibility:
Enforcing Regulations: Ensuring every second of the exam complies with JCQ and school-specific mandates
Paper Security: Managing the chain of custody for all confidential exam materials from safe to desk
Candidate Verification: Confirming that every student is seated correctly according to the formal register
Silent Supervision: Patrolling the room continuously to deter and detect any form of communication or cheating
Delivering Briefings: Reading the formal Instructions to Candidates clearly and with authority
Administrative Logging: Meticulously recording start/end times and any seating changes or incidents
Stationery Management: Distributing and collecting authorised equipment, such as calculators and formula sheets
Access Support: Assisting students with approved access arrangements, such as acting as a prompter
Environment Management: Ensuring the hall remains at an appropriate temperature, lighting, and silence level
Script Collection: Systematically gathering all exam papers in the correct order for immediate dispatch
Requirements:
Previous invigilation experience (ideally) or training can be provided
An Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one)
A commitment to the full-time schedule following the Easter break through to the end of June
