Job Description:

The Environmental Service Trainer/Team leader provides training and orientation to new hires in the Environmental Service Department. The trainer/team leader will organize workflow and provide leadership to staff. The Trainer/Team leader will also assist in the cleaning, disinfecting, and maintenance of both patient care and no-patient care areas as needed and in accordance with the mission and philosophy of St. Alexius Medical Center.

Job Responsibility:

  • Provides training and orientation to new hires in the Environmental Service Department
  • Organize workflow and provide leadership to staff
  • Assist in the cleaning, disinfecting, and maintenance of both patient care and no-patient care areas as needed
  • Conducts and oversees training for staff to include orientation and on-the-job training
  • Signs off on the competency of new hires and ensures paper work is complete
  • Responds to all emergencies or problems in the department according to established policy
  • Reports mechanical failures or unsafe conditions throughout the Medical Center
  • Follows hospital regulations for infection control to include hand washing
  • Possess skills/knowledge to perform service and operation of equipment specific to age groups-ensures environment is safe

Requirements:

  • Completion of High School Education
  • Must have a valid drivers license to operate riding equipment in Medical Center
  • Minimum of 1 year in a leadership/management position or equivalent
  • Ability to understand and complete written and verbal instruction
