Job Description

We are seeking an experienced SAP Release Deployment & Governance Lead to establish, own, and continuously evolve a unified release deployment governance framework across complex SAP landscapes. This role is critical in ensuring aligned, low-risk, high-quality SAP releases by driving end-to-end deployment governance, landscape coordination, and dependency management across multiple internal teams and third-party suppliers. The role requires strong technical credibility, people leadership capability, and the ability to influence senior stakeholders while maintaining rigorous operational discipline and compliance.

Job Responsibility

  • Define, implement, and sustain a comprehensive SAP Release Deployment Governance Framework across all SAP workstreams
  • Ensure consistent governance standards and deployment practices across internal teams and external delivery partners
  • Establish, monitor, and report on KPIs, SLAs, and quality gates for deployment execution and readiness
  • Provide leadership and direction to 3–4 technical deployment team leads
  • Drive alignment of deployment approaches, timelines, and dependencies across SAP and non-SAP programmes
  • Manage SAP landscape strategy, transport sequencing, and cross-project dependency mapping
  • Act as single point of contact for release deployment within TDA-based impact assessments
  • Represent Release Deployment in governance forums, steering committees, and cross-functional decision boards
  • Lead escalation management for deployment-related risks, issues, and delivery conflicts
  • Design and refine deployment processes in collaboration with Release Planning and Support Enablement teams
  • Promote automation, standardisation, and adoption of best practices
  • Deliver clear, concise, and timely communications on release status, risks, and readiness
  • Foster a collaborative, accountable, and continuously improving team culture

Requirements

  • Experience as SAP deployment professional
  • Deep expertise in complex transport landscapes and enterprise-scale release frameworks
  • Proven people leadership managing multiple technical teams and influencing without hierarchy
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, comfortable managing multi-step deployment plans across diverse environments
  • Experience in governance design, operating model implementation, and transformation delivery
  • Confident in stakeholder engagement with ability to challenge constructively and resolve conflicts collaboratively
  • Proactive problem-solver with balanced, risk-based approach to delivery
  • Effective communicator with strong presentation skills and ability to simplify complex technical topics
