The Events and Lord Mayor's Team manages, delivers and supports all aspects of allocated events within the Portsmouth City events portfolio including regional, national and international level events such as Armed Forces Day, Southsea Food Festival, fireworks display, International Kite Festival, car boot sales and Live at the Bandstand, plus one-off events and supporting external event organizers and Lord Mayor's hospitality events.
Job Responsibility:
Support the Events Team while taking ownership of key tasks to help deliver the events programme during busy summer period
Deliver outdoor and civic events on time, with quality outcomes and within agreed budgets
Facilitate and support new events and initiatives at regional, national and international level
Assist the Assistant Events and Civic Manager and support Events Officers in the full life cycle of events including delivery
Requirements:
Demonstrable knowledge and experience of planning, managing and delivering quality events and projects
Exceptional organisational, communication, IT and customer care skills
Resourceful problem solver able to manage a complex and busy events programme
Proactive with excellent communication, negotiation, consultation and influencing skills
Flexible to work evenings, weekends and Bank Holidays
