Responsible for preparing all event documentation and coordinates with Sales, property departments and customer to ensure consistent, high level service throughout pre-event, event and post-event phases of property events. This position primarily handles events of average complexity. Ensures their property events have a seamless turnover from sales to service back to sales. Recognizes opportunities to maximize revenue opportunities by up-selling and offering enhancements to create outstanding events.
Job Responsibility:
Prepare all event documentation and coordinate with Sales, property departments and customer to ensure consistent, high level service throughout pre-event, event and post-event phases
Ensure events progress seamlessly by following established procedures
Greet customer during the event phase and hand-off to Event Operations team
Adhere to standards, policies, and procedures
Ensure billing accuracy and conduct bill reviews with clients
Manage group room blocks and meeting space for average to large-sized groups
Identify operational challenges and work with staff and customer to solve them
Act as liaison between field salesperson and customer throughout event process
Participate in customer site inspections
Solicit feedback from property departments to improve Event Planner's experience
Deliver excellent customer service
Empower employees for excellent customer service
Coordinate and communicate event details to customer and property operations
Oversee customer experiences from file turnover through post event
Follow up with customer post-event
Handle guest problems and complaints
Conduct formal pre- and post-event meetings
Assist in sales process and revenue forecasting
Up-sell products and services
Forecast group sleeping rooms and event revenue
Review comment cards and guest satisfaction results
Observe service behaviors and provide feedback
Assist in corrective action plans
Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
High school diploma or GED
1 – 2 years of experience in the event management or related professional area
OR 2-year degree from an accredited university in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related major
at least 1 year experience in the event management or related professional area required.
