An established membership organisation within the professional and technical services sector is seeking an experienced Events Manager to join their team on a temporary basis, with the potential to transition into a permanent role. This is a fantastic opportunity for a proactive and highly organised events professional to deliver a varied and international events programme, including conferences, seminars, webinars, and exhibitions, ensuring each event reflects the professionalism and expertise of the organisation.
Job Responsibility:
Deliver a calendar of international and regional events including membership meetings, conferences, technical seminars, and webinars
Manage each allocated event from planning and budgeting through to logistics, on-site delivery, and post-event evaluation
Coordinate with internal teams and external partners to ensure smooth and efficient event execution
Oversee delegate and speaker management, ensuring clear communication, registration, and support
Manage relationships with venues, suppliers, and agencies, negotiating contracts and ensuring cost-effective delivery
Provide on-site event support (both UK and international), ensuring professional execution
Monitor and manage budgets, including raising invoices for sponsorship and delegate fees
Work with the Communications team to ensure events are effectively promoted across multiple channels
Support event web pages, listings, and post-event reporting including KPIs and feedback summaries
Identify and develop creative opportunities for sponsorship and event promotion
Contribute to wider communications and marketing activities when required
Requirements:
Demonstrable experience managing and delivering international business events, from small seminars to large conferences and exhibitions
Proven ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders, suppliers, and agencies to achieve successful outcomes
Strong budgeting and financial management experience, including reconciliation and reporting
Excellent organisational skills with a proactive, problem-solving mindset
Confident communicator with strong written and verbal skills
Ability to build strong relationships and influence at all levels
Willingness and ability to travel within the UK and internationally as required
Nice to have:
Experience working in a membership body, trade association, or related professional services environment
Knowledge of abstract and speaker management systems (e.g., call for papers)
