The Events & Group Sales Manager will be a crucial, dual-focused role. The main task will be to drive and manage corporate group sales to meet and exceed targets, coupled with providing essential support and leadership in daily operations management and event coordination to ensure a seamless, high-quality guest experience.
Job Responsibility
Drive and manage corporate group sales to meet and exceed targets
Provide essential support and leadership in daily operations management and event coordination
Achieve and surpass annual sales targets across food, beverage, and room rental fees
Generate, prepare, and present comprehensive proposals, sales contracts, and coordinate site inspection visits
Develop strategic action plans to effectively sell corporate event spaces
Proactively identify and develop new markets and revenue streams
Work strategically with diverse business segments
Contribute to updating budget forecasting processes and provide requested sales reports and analytics
Serve as the primary point of contact for group reservation and event inquiries
Coordinate, finalize, and communicate event and reservation details to internal departments
Collaborate closely with Operations Management team and kitchen concessionaires
Lead and manage on-site operations for large-scale events
Execute scheduled daily opening and closing procedures
Support general management team with daily operation tasks
Actively engage with market clients to gather feedback
Maintain a primary focus on quality of daily operations, customer engagement, and staff supervision
Requirements
A minimum of 3 to 5 years of progressive experience in a similar sales, events, and/or operations management position
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with a proven ability to interact professionally and positively with clients, employees, and third parties
Solid mathematical skills, including proficiency in basic arithmetic, budgeting, understanding profit/loss concepts, percentages, and variance analysis
Demonstrated ability to motivate and train staff, maintain team cohesion, and lead by example during operations
Proven ability to remain calm, courteous, and professional under pressure, with strong reasoning skills, good judgment, and the capacity to analyze and resolve operational and client issues effectively
Must be available and willing to work a flexible schedule, including days, evenings, weekends, and/or holidays
A strong understanding of the restaurant/food service industry and the local corporate/events market is highly advantageous
Food Safety Certification Level 1

Nice to have
Post-secondary education in Hospitality, Business Administration, or a related field is an asset
Knowledge of Tripleseat or other similar event management software is a definite asset
