Job Description:

The Events Concierge at Marriott Marquis San Diego Marina will meet group coordinators prior to functions, ensure all arrangements are agreeable, and provide exceptional service to guests. The role involves managing banquet event orders, addressing guest needs, maintaining professional appearances, and ensuring adherence to safety and company standards.

Job Responsibility:

Meet group coordinator/host(ess) prior to functions, make introductions, and ensure that all arrangements are agreeable
read and analyze banquet event order in order to gather guest information, determine proper set up, timeline, and specific guest needs
respond to and try to fulfill any special banquet event arrangements
follow up on special banquet event arrangements to ensure compliance
welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards
anticipate and address guests’ service needs
ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards
visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines to identify defects
move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds
develop and maintain positive working relationships with others
support team to reach common goals
perform other reasonable job duties as requested by supervisors.

Requirements:

High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
at least 1 year of related work experience
ability to stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time
ability to lift objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds without assistance
ability to move through narrow, confined, or elevated spaces
ability to move over sloping, uneven, or slippery surfaces as well as up and down stairs and service ramps
