The Event Sales Manager will actively solicit and secure new and repeat event sales bookings across defined markets to meet and exceed sales goals.
Job Responsibility:
Qualify leads promptly and professionally, make sales calls, conduct site tours, give presentations, engage prospective and repeat clients across assigned markets, both on-site and off-site
Create regular correspondence and communicate with clients as needed
Quote rates, prepare proposals, presentations, and license agreements with accuracy and within deadlines
Abide by approved pricing guidelines, booking policies, and standard operating procedures
Consult and collaborate with Sales and Catering Sales to optimize event booking placement and achieve business goals
Participate in weekly sales meetings to discuss prospects, booking updates, goals, and align sales strategies and priorities
Attend weekly Production meetings and relay client needs to staff
Maintain accurate and up-to-date account and event records with proper documentation within the online booking system

Foster collaborative relationships with the CVB, hotels, and industry/community partners to source/convert leads
attend select networking/industry events as assigned
Ensure accuracy, professionalism, and highest level of customer service in all communications, interactions and work products
Participate in team events and activities
Monitor industry trends and competitor activity to maintain a competitive edge
Other duties assigned by the Senior Sales and Marketing Manager
Requirements:
Minimum two years of event sales, catering sales, event services or another similar environment
Bachelor’s degree preferred. Experience equivalency considered in lieu of degree requirements
Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize, take initiative, and meet deadlines
Proven ability to develop and apply effective sales strategies and techniques
Able to collaborate effectively with all levels of staff in a team-oriented environment
Demonstrate adaptability and a positive attitude to support cross-departmental communication and alignment with company culture
High integrity with strict adherence to sales protocols
Consistently demonstrate a strong commitment to hospitality
Proficient in Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams)
Able to learn and effectively perform duties utilizing industry software programs
Momentus Elite or similar booking/CRM a plus
Familiarity with video conferencing tools (e.g., Zoom, Microsoft Teams)
Ability to work standard business hours, with occasional evenings/weekends
Professional appearance required as a representative of the Wilmington Convention Center
Valid driver’s license
