This is a fantastic opportunity to join the Economic and Cultural Activation Service Unit and lead the delivery of high-profile civic events that celebrate and connect the local community. As an Events Officer, you will be the driving force behind the Annual Event Program.
Job Responsibility:
Leading the planning and delivery of the Annual Grant Celebration, Community Awards, and Australian Citizenship Ceremonies
Developing comprehensive event plans, including timelines, budgets, risk management, and resource allocation
Coordinating internal departments and external vendors while ensuring all legislative requirements are met
Facilitating regular meetings with internal and external stakeholders to review upcoming events and gather input
Managing finance tasks such as purchase orders and invoices, maintaining community databases, and preparing council reports/briefings
Overseeing event delivery on the day, resolving issues promptly to ensure a high-quality experience for all attendees
Requirements:
A Degree or Diploma in Event Management
Proven experience in the events sector with a strong understanding of event operations and public gathering regulations
Demonstrated proficiency in managing budgets, personnel, and materials
Exceptional ability to build relationships, collaborate across departments, and communicate clearly with diverse stakeholders
Sound judgement in identifying risks and implementing effective solutions under pressure
