Job Description:

The Event Coordinator - Thai Speaking at JW Marriott Phuket Resort & Spa is responsible for meeting group coordinators/hosts prior to functions, making introductions, and ensuring all arrangements are agreeable. The coordinator will read and analyze banquet event orders to gather guest information, determine proper set up, timeline, and specific guest needs. They will respond to and fulfill any special banquet event arrangements and follow up to ensure compliance. The role requires adherence to company and safety policies, maintaining professional appearance, and ensuring guest satisfaction. The coordinator will also develop positive working relationships, support team goals, and perform various physical tasks as required.

Job Responsibility:

Meet group coordinator/host(ess) prior to functions
Make introductions
Ensure arrangements are agreeable
Read and analyze banquet event orders
Gather guest information
Determine proper set up, timeline, specific guest needs, buffets, action stations
Respond to and fulfill special banquet event arrangements
Follow up on special banquet event arrangements
Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions
Complete safety training and certifications
Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional
Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information
Protect company assets
Welcome and acknowledge all guests
Anticipate and address guests’ service needs
Thank guests with genuine appreciation
Speak with others using clear and professional language
Answer telephones using appropriate etiquette
Develop and maintain positive working relationships
Support team to reach common goals
Ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards
Read and visually verify information
Visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines
Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time
Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 25 pounds
Move through narrow, confined, or elevated spaces
Move over sloping, uneven, or slippery surfaces
Move up and down stairs and/or service ramps
Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping
Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors

Requirements:

High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
At least 1 year of related work experience
No supervisory experience
Ability to read and analyze banquet event orders
Ability to respond to and fulfill special banquet event arrangements
Ability to follow company and safety policies
Ability to maintain professional appearance and confidentiality
Ability to welcome and acknowledge guests
Ability to speak clearly and professionally
Ability to develop positive working relationships
Ability to adhere to quality expectations
Ability to visually verify information and inspect tools
Ability to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods
Ability to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 25 pounds
