Job Description

As a warehouse selector on our distribution team, you’ll help deliver exceptional service by accurately and efficiently selecting products for Wegmans stores.

Job Responsibility

  • Ensure pallets of product are built safely and efficiently
  • Safely operate equipment including forklift, pallet jack, and/or Vocollect
  • Perform order audits to determine accuracy and quality
  • Maintain knowledge of all quality standards/specifications and requirements for all products
  • Inform operations management of daily quality issues using reports
  • Maintain the integrity of the cold chain on loads that have temperature requirements
  • May work in and have exposure to cold temperatures and lift weight of 20-25 pounds on average with maximum weight lifted greater than 50 pounds occasionally to frequently

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Previous experience with operating a pallet jack, forklift, and Vocollect

  • Adhere to all food safety standards in the handling and storage of food products
  • Receive and unload incoming shipments of food products, packaging, and supplies, verifying the accuracy and quality of the shipment against the packing slip and invoice or purchase order
  • Count and weigh items as per standard operating procedures to verify the information on the shipment documents
  • Label, tag, and store items in their designated location(s) in the warehouse according to food safety and inventory procedures
  • Conduct inventory movements both physically and digitally as required
  • Conduct regular inventory checks and cycle counts and updated inventory records in the warehouse management system to ensure inventory accuracy and reduce inventory buildup
