Job Description:

To assist the Retail & Forecourt manager and area manager in the delivery of store targets (both in terms of sales & profitability) through the effective management of store operations and personnel.

Job Responsibility:

  • Supervise retail sales team daily
  • Ensure high-quality customer service
  • Delegate and communicate effectively with team
  • Supervise induction and training of employees
  • Communicate sales performance
  • Assist in recruitment
  • Assist in performance management
  • Ensure store is merchandised correctly
  • Maintain housekeeping
  • Co-ordinate in-store sales and promotions
  • Ensure cash handling policy adherence
  • Update shelf-edge labels weekly
  • React to local market trends
  • Deal with customer complaints
  • Assist in stock take preparation
  • Minimise stock loss
  • Ensure food management and waste systems adherence
  • Check stock availability
  • Ensure stock rotation
  • Ensure secure opening and closing procedures
  • Assist in compliance with legislation
  • Identify and reduce hazards
  • Ensure Health & Safety checks
  • Count cash and prepare lodgments
  • Prepare accurate floats
  • Lodge money in ATM
  • Complete and submit reports
  • Book delivery dockets
  • Complete stock takes of key lines
  • Organize monthly stock count
  • Complete rota and wage reports
  • Ensure transfer docket accuracy
  • Make newspaper and magazine returns
  • Follow up on short deliveries
  • Keep filing up-to-date
  • Help on shop floor
  • Order coin for shop
  • Perform ad hoc duties

Requirements:

  • Legal right to work in Ireland
  • Supervisory experience
  • Experience in retail or forecourt operations
  • Experience in stock management
  • Experience in cash handling and office administration
  • Knowledge of Labour Law, HACCP, Health & Safety, and Consumer Legislation
  • Ability to communicate and delegate effectively
  • Ability to manage people of diverse backgrounds
  • Flexibility to assist at tills during peak times
